Le Mas des Suves

Les Hauts de Barbeyrolles, 83580 Gassin, Var

Sleeps 10

"I've been lucky enough to stay at "Le Mas des Suves" on many happy occasions, and couldn't recommend it more.

Firstly, its location. On a hill with wonderful views, yet only a short drive to Pampelonne Beach or to the centre of St Tropez with its market, its people and boat watching - and a scoop of its famous ice cream! Secondly, the house itself, perfectly proportioned, with spacious rooms, and nestling in a wonderful garden. Thirdly, the award-winning pool, with its amazing Pool House and BBQ area and its twin bedded room - perfect for the errant 'young' who can sleep until noon after a late night in St Tropez's famous clubs.

To cap it all - the superb tennis court (and a private coach if requested), plus the famous Minuty vineyard just beyond the bottom of the drive."

"As you know, we've rented "Mas des Suves" for 3 weeks at a time for several years, and on behalf of all of us, I would like to say how hard it's been to tear ourselves away. The house is just beautiful, the master suite fabulous, the garden and pool spectacular and while you are just minutes away from the beaches of Ramatuelle and the buzz of St Tropez, it's so peaceful that you might just as well be in the deepest countryside.

We urge other tenants to try the delicious wines from Château Minuty, the vineyard which is a short walk from the house.

The Location

The nearest village is Gassin (3 kms) which has a modest general store which sells, amongst other day-to-day requirements, same-day foreign language newspapers. Port Grimaud and the medieval village of Grimaud are 7 kms. St Tropez is 8 kms, and St. Maxime 14 kms.

Toulon (Hyères) international airport is 45 minutes' drive, whilst Nice international airport is 90 minutes' away. The super-fast train, the TGV, stops at Les Arcs (1 hour's drive). Access to the A8 autoroute is 45 minutes.

The Route des Plages starts at Ramatuelle, and skirts the St Tropez famous beaches and its restaurants, thus avoiding the traffic in St. Tropez itself.
