Four Fabulous French Villas Join the Crème de la Crème of Anglo French Properties

Anglo French Properties is a well kept secret among Francophiles in the know and one of the most exclusive collections of luxury villas in the rentals sector.

For 2013, just four fabulous properties have made the portfolio, bringing the total to 21 in prime locations of Southern France. These hand-picked properties can be surprisingly affordable when two or more families holiday together.

For over 20 years, Miles Maskell has been arranging rentals of distinctive châteaux, villas and country houses in the most reliably sunny regions of the south west of France, Provence and the Côte d’Azur. Around three quarters of the business comes from customers coming back time after time and recommendations from others.

The four properties being included for the first time in 2013 consist of one in the Luberon region of Provence and three near St Tropez on the Côte d’Azur.

Les Prés Blancs (sleeps 12) in the Luberon has been transformed for 2013 with wow-factor restorations and interior design. Parts of this magnificent Provençal farmhouse date back to 1600 and the centuries of character have been beautifully retained but also brought bang up to date with style and finesse. Ideal for up to three families, the main house includes five huge bedrooms with large ensuite bathrooms and shower-rooms, plus two further ensuite bedrooms in the annexe. The main sitting room is open to a wonderful minstrels’ gallery, complete with high raftered ceiling and magnificent chandelier, while the vast kitchen is ultra sleek and state of the art. Beyond a broad, south facing terrace, Le Prés Blancs is set in 6 acres of lawns and lavender fields, including a 12x6m swimming pool and small heated ‘bassin’ pool in a former lavender distillery.  The house is at the heart of the Luberon, 3 kms from the attractive village of Saignon and 8 kms from the famously charming Provençal village of Bonnieux.  A 7-night rental of Les Prés Blancs costs from £3760 to £8460 for up to 12 people. The nearest airports are Avignon (1hr) and Marseilles (90mins). The TGV also stops at Avignon.  www.anglofrenchproperties.com/properties/les-pres-blancs.

La Ferme Vaubelette (sleeps 12) boasts a prime location in the hills just 2 kms above medieval Grimaud and 9 kms from the Côte d’Azur coast. With its creeper-clad sun-bleached walls and olive green shutters, the property is a classic early 19th century farmhouse and the owners have preserved all the authentic charm while giving the interior a fresh, contemporary facelift.  Chunky raftered ceilings have been exposed and stripped to complement the crisp white decor and no-one could ever guess the elegant, sumptuous Salon was formerly a tractor shed! La Ferme Vaubelette is ideal for up to three families, with three ensuite double bedrooms, one twin bedroom and an ensuite children’s room with four single beds.  Step through a choice of French doors onto the south facing terraces and the house is surrounded by manicured lawns, flowerbeds and shady trees in 10 acres of secluded grounds for enjoying the Côte d’Azur sunshine. There is a leafy pergola for dining alfresco by the house and another by the 14x6m swimming pool where there is also a cool, fully equipped pool bar. A 7-night rental of La Ferme Vaubelette costs from £4500 to £6000 for up to 12 people. The nearest airports are Toulon (45 minutes) and Nice (90 minutes). The TGV also stops at Les Arcs (45 minutes). www.anglofrenchproperties.com/properties/la-ferme-vaubelette.

Le Mas de Faucon (sleeps 10) is a fabulously elegant villa in the authentic Côte d’Azur style which was beautifully purpose built in 1969 when the rich and famous were flocking to nearby St Tropez. The villa boasts views over the bay of St Tropez from the upper terraces and the exclusive Pampelonne beach clubs are only 20 minutes away. The style is tastefully traditional, from the grand fireplace in the sitting room and polished banquet table, to a four-poster in the master bedroom where French doors open onto panoramic terraces on three sides. Besides the master ensuite bedroom, the villa has two other double ensuite bedrooms and two twin rooms, making Le Mas de Faucon ideal for up to three families. The villa is set in over 7 acres of an established landscaped garden and secluded grounds, with sunbeds by a beautiful emerald pool providing the perfect setting for relaxing in the sun and admiring the views. Le Mas de Faucon is 10 minutes from the centre of Cogolin and the nearest airports are Toulon (45 minutes) and Nice (90 minutes). The TGV also stops at Les Arcs (45 minutes). A 7-night rental of Le Mas de Faucon in July and August costs £6890. www.anglofrenchproperties.com/properties/le-mas-de-faucon.

Le Petit Faucon (sleeps 10) is a sleek and contemporary villa tucked into the hills which form the scenic backdrop to St Tropez.  The Pampelonne beach clubs are only 20 minutes away but for most guests, reclining by the sparkling 12x4 metre pool, lounging on the outdoor sofas or dining alfresco on a choice of panoramic terraces is the effortless way to relax in style. At the heart of the villa, a vast sitting room features a wall of sliding glass doors which flood the space with light and open onto south facing terraces. Every room benefits from tasteful designer styling and up to three families can stay in the lap of luxury thanks to three ensuite double bedrooms and two ensuite twin bedrooms. Le Petit Faucon is 10 minutes from the centre of Cogolin and the nearest airports are Toulon (45 minutes) and Nice (90 minutes). The TGV also stops at Les Arcs (45 minutes). A 7-night rental of Le Petit Faucon costs from £4700 to £6350. www.anglofrenchproperties.com/properties/le-petit-faucon.
