A couple of hours drive from our properties based in Lot-et-Garonne is the beautiful medieval city of Carcassonne, which is famous for its fortress. The fortress was added to the UNESCO world heritage sites in 1997. The site has been occupied since the Romans first built a fortress there over 2000 years ago!
