Moulin de la Tour

Fontvieille, Bouches-du-Rhone, Provence, South of France

Moulin de La Tour was once an olive mill and is quintessentially Provençal, located at the very heart of the iconic landscape of sunflowers, lavender fields and olive groves. Its bedrooms are divided between the grand Main House and a separate Annexe, while the gardens include a swimming pool and a tennis court. This is a superb property for large groups, multi generational holidays and mixed ages. It is within walking distance of Fontvieille where there is a nice choice of restaurants, bars and café’s. Its a fascinating area with masses to do and see locally if you choose. Its not far from the Camargue and from the old city of Arles on The Rhone with its fantastic Roman amphitheatre though you may well not stray far from the place.

Testimonials

"Everyone enjoyed themselves immensely (perhaps it was too short a stay!) and were amazed at the facilities and grounds of the house. Jeannie and Sandra were extremely supportive and the meals they prepared quite delicious. Freshly delivered early morning baguettes and croissants were fabulous. Thank you Sandra! Except for the dining room table in the main room, I think we used every other space for meals - but I especially enjoyed being able to have meals in the open air - a great joy. Indoors, we all greatly enjoyed the wonderful art on the walls, the fascinating books and all the antiques. The bull theme led most of the group to attend a 'taureau au piscine' in Arles, which they greatly enjoyed. It was a great bonus to be able to quickly drive or walk into Fontvieille for basic needs. The pool, the tennis court, the pool/billiards table, the piano, the ping pong table and the garden, in fact every thing made the stay very special. Our sincere thanks."

Sir John Baring 2023 USA

"We were very hopeful that Moulin de la Tour would be a Provencal experience of quality. It looked as if it might be on the internet and in our discussions with Anglo French Properties we felt our intuition was probably right. It was very right! The property itself is large and full of character, the garden is enchanting - large and private with tennis, swimming, boules and lots of grass for the children; the staff were delightful and the food and service were outstanding. We particularly liked the ability to walk into the village; there were outstanding restauarants within a few minutes drive; the Van Gogh exhibition in Les Baux was a highlight. We had a four generations holiday with the ages ranging from 85 to 1 and everyone who could articulate a vote would want to go back "

Maurice Thompson, Shropshire, England.

"We had a fantastic week at Moulin de la Tour, and were delighted by the kindness and attention to detail shown to us by the caretaker. It was a total joy from beginning to end, and very special for me to be surrounded by my 4 children, plus their spouses and their own children. I usually rent a house for the entire family every other year, and I very much hope that 'Moulin de la Tour' will be available in 2 years' time "

Lorna Alexander, London, England

""A few words to say how much we all loved Moulin de la Tour - it was perfect! We spent lots of time in the pool, playing 'boules' and tennis and just "hanging out". We wish that we could begin it all again! Some excellent dinners were cooked for us, and we were able to eat outside every evening. Whether at the Moulin or visiting many of the nearby villages, abbeys and other interesting sites, we were as happy as we'll ever be, being together in such lovely surroundings""

Flora Biddle, New York and Connecticut, U.S.A.

"Our family of three generations enjoyed a wonderful week at "Moulin de la Tour". The villa is luxurious and the extensive grounds with swimming pool, tennis court and boules area provided activity for all. The caretaker/cook was very supportive but not intrusive, and she prepared some delicious meals."

Muriel Stewart, Co.Down, Northern Ireland.
