Dadinou
A charming restored farmhouse in a most beautiful situation. It has a superb tennis court in a delightful large garden. A separate Annexe allows a small degree of separation/independence for guests/in laws/extended family but is extremely close. Dadinou is only a short drive to ‘Les Eyzies’ (Les Eyzies de Tayac) where there is a marvellous choice of bars, cafés, restaurants and the gentle swing of local life.
'We took Dadinou House for a very special large family gathering. The house and surrounding area were everything we had dreamed of. A beautiful house that seemed to soak all of us up so that we never felt on top of each other. The swimming pool was immaculate and so close to the house which made for the hot, heat wave days of August blissful. We enjoyed using all of the facilities, tennis, croquet, table tennis and loved how the old oak trees gave us plenty of shade during those hot afternoons.
Martine was so friendly meeting us and popping in to clean during the week we felt so well looked after.
Jack was the perfect property host and was always on hand for any questions. We are all so grateful to him for finding this perfect gem of a house in the middle of the beautiful French countryside.'

"We had a wonderful relaxing week this summer at Dadinou. The property was perfect for our needs with tons of space both indoors and out. The swimming pool and tennis court were fabulous additions and the table tennis in the barn was also well used. The grounds were extensive and meant that there really was no need to travel far afield. There were many options for quiet little reading spots and a big terrace for eating outdoors. It really is quite isolated but within reach of supermarkets and small towns. We were very well looked after by Martine and her team who were very helpful and quick to sort out any problems we had. A big thank you to Jack for recommending this property to us and for providing an excellent service."

'Dadinou is in a wonderfully isolated spot, with all of the benefits of that isolation, but within easy reach of services and the attractions of the Dordogne
The support staff were exceptional, and couldn't have done more to facilitate our enjoyment of our stay - including the opportunity to practice our French and experience real local cooking.
The garden, tennis court and pool were delightful and the accommodation although idiosyncratic and slightly eccentric functions well and adds to the charm of the place
For a family who enjoy each other’s company, simple pleasures and don’t need endless outside stimulation; it is ideal.
Big enough to lose yourself for a while; while intimate enough for group events to work well. I can see it would also work for extended families (or groups) or more than one family that enjoyed each other’s company'.

''We had a wonderful week at Dadinou, thoroughly enjoyed by all four generations of our family. The ground floor of the separate annexe was perfect for my 95 year old mother, and my wife and I also appreciated the tranquillity of the first floor of the annexe, well away from our early rising and boisterous grandchildren.
The secluded grounds and location are lovely and the garden and surrounding area were immaculately kept. The lightly salinated swimming pool was excellent and the grandchildren made big strides with their swimming. The tennis court was an added bonus. We were lucky with the weather and spent most of the week outside.
Anne and Martine were very friendly and Anne prepared a simple meal for us every afternoon, which we reheated ourselves when appropriate in the evening. It was a treat to be relieved of the chores of shopping and cooking and we thought that the final tab for her time and outgoings was very reasonable.
Jack was helpful and friendly and the booking process was stress free. Our deposit was refunded promptly and in full.''

'Dadinou is a wonderful place. We had our annual family holiday there and it was great success. It is situated deep in the French countryside with no near neighbours and yet easy to access the local boulangerie, shops and supermarket at Les Eyzie with a short drive through the countryside.
The accommodation is spacious and the kitchen well equiped. It is set in beautiful grounds which allows space for everyone to enjoy. There is a large dining table in the house, enough for all and another outside which meant we had long lazy lunches under the cool of the trees. The swimming pool, tennis court and table tennis are all excellent. There is so much to see locally if you wish to venture out. The younger members of the family had a great time canoeing on the river. The support from Mr Wingfield Digby was excellent with a telephone call on the first day to make sure that everything was alright. Overall, it is highly recommended.'

Garden & Grounds
Outside the Main House is the well-shaded, alarmed, salinated, Swimming Pool. (The strength of the salt water is the equivalent of human tears, and assists in keeping the water clean and preventing eye infections). It is accessed by a ladder at the shallow end.
The pool is 36 feet long, 16 feet wide, with a depth of 3’6” at the shallow end, descending to 7 feet at the opposite end.
There are 12 sunbeds with cushions, a dining table seating 12, a round table seating 4, a third rectangular table seating 6, a large parasol and a 3-seater swing chair.
Beyond the Swimming Pool is the Grange in which there’s a pool shower, a fridge/freezer, a table tennis table with a net, bats and balls, a croquet set, and a set of ‘boules’. Also a portable charcoal-fired barbecue. Because the pool is comparatively shallow, no diving is permitted.
Further away is the ‘boules’court, whilst all around are lawns, hedges, and a wide variety of trees, flanked by woods.
On the south west side of the Main House is the Tennis Court. There are splendid views to the north.
Location
“Dadinou” is 3 miles from Rouffignac which has reasonable shopping facilities, and 6 miles from Les Eyzies-de-Tayac (known simply as ‘Les Eyzies`) whose shops are rather more extensive. Sarlat-le-Canéda (known simply as ‘Sarlat’) is 19 miles. It has excellent shopping facilities of all kinds (including 4 supermarkets), plus a wealth of restaurants from Michelin-starred to more modest establishments which nonetheless pride themselves on their ‘cuisine’ – good food is taken very seriously in the Dordogne! Apart from hosting a renowned international film festival every November, Sarlat boasts one of the best day-time Saturday markets in the region – held in the heart of the beautiful medieval town centre. This centre, floodlit at night, has all the atmosphere of a glamorous stage set, and is well worth a nocturnal visit.
Bergerac (Roumanière) and Brive-la-Gaillarde airports are one hour’s drive. Limoges airport is one hour 45 minutes, and Bordeaux (Mérignac) airport is 2 hours.
The nearest junction to the autoroute is no. 17 on the A89 between Périgueux and Brive-la-Gaillarde.
